Discuss your site shutdownA shutdown is planned over months and carried out in days. During that week, staff from dozens of contractor firms pass through — many of them subcontractors to your subcontractors, and some of them in Sweden for the first time.
The access control system answers whether the person may come through the gate. It does not answer whether the person is allowed to work on the site at all: whether the identity is verified, the work permit is still valid, the posting has been notified and the right training is in place. That is the question Sistec owns.
The difference only shows when something goes wrong. That is when you have to show what you checked, when, and on what basis.
What actually goes wrong
The chain runs deeper than you think. The contract is with the main contractor, but the person at the gate is employed at the third tier — often by a company you have never seen.
The check happens once. A work permit that was valid at enrolment may expire in the middle of the shutdown. Without continuous monitoring, nobody notices.
Postings go unreported. A foreign company sending staff to Sweden must notify the Work Environment Authority. The duty to verify that it happened lands with you.
The evidence sits in binders. When an authority, an insurer or a client asks, you cannot show in an afternoon who was on site and what was checked.
From order to access
The contractor is invited
You enter which companies will work during the shutdown. Each company gets a link and registers its own staff — no more collecting lists over email.
Identity is verified
The person presents a passport or national ID. The document is read by chip, UV and IR, and the face is matched against it.
Right to work is checked
Work permits, residence permits and citizenship are checked against the authorities' sources. Posting status is checked against the Work Environment Authority.
Authorisation and induction
Site induction, client-specific requirements and mandatory training are recorded before the person is let in.
The decision reaches access control
Sistec says yes or no to your access partner. Authorisation lasts only as long as the underlying documents do — an expiring permit revokes access.
